35 FIMC: ORQUESTA DE CADAQUÉS

Estonia conductor Anu Tali is visiting the Islands to conduct the prestigious Orquesta de Cadaqués, who returns to Festival de Canarias to play 'Vistas al mar', by Toldrá i Soler; Piano Concerto nº4 by Beethoven; and Mendelssohn’s Symphony nº4.

Beethoven’s concerto features maestro Joaquín Achúcarro, a legendary pianist who aged 86, is still at work. He is back to Festival de Música de Canarias 15 years after his last visit. Critics say he has had a new different career in the past years. He continues to offer top quality concerts and, as he says, “without the duty to prove, at my age, who am I”.
