Educational and Social Area
Culture is ethical or it is not. This statement implies being fully aware of the relationship there must be between artistic and cultural activities and the way they are conveyed to society. The aim is to start a relationship between the artistic activity, the performing space and the audiences being addressed. Better informed viewers make better viewers and better citizens too.
All our programmes try to create a space where art and people can relate. To achieve this it is necessary to build a relationship with the contexts and environment where a person lives: family, school, social group and their own view on culture and what they can contribute to others. Artistic abilities –a part from their intrinsic value- do not only have to do with an overall view of citizens, but are also an unquestionable contribution to social well-being, to acknowledging individual and collective identities, as well as the shaping and practising of critical thought, which is needed for a mature democratic coexistence.
In this spirit, we carry out social inclusion programmes at different centres (penitentiaries, minor centres, centres for people with special needs, etc.). We also contribute to artistic training in collaboration with Professional Training Centres and offer workshops, courses, talks, meetings with artists and guided tours to bring our work to the citizens.
Our Educational Area is a member of Red Nacional de Organizadores de Conciertos Educativos ROCE, where we are vice-president, and RESEO, European Network for Dance and Opera Education.
