Tenerife Symphony Orchestra welcomes Daniel Raiskin for the second time. The son of a distinguished musicologist, Raiskin was born and educated in St. Petersburg, and also studied with figures of the stature of Mariss Jansons or Neeme Järvi. He then went to Amsterdam and Friburg, where he gradually built a very successful career, first as a viola player and then as conductor. He has important commitments with ensembles in Germany, the United States, Russia, France, Argentina, Mexico or China. This programme includes works by A. Dvořák, Brahms, Strauss or Borodin and solo clarinettist Kari Kriikku is joining him. An international star, Kriikku studied in his native Finland and has pursued his career throughout the world, standing out for his superb sensitivity, his catching enthusiasm and his strong commitment to contemporary creation, without disregarding the classical repertoire, of which he has made excellent recordings.
