National Theatre Awards Event
The Tenerife company Delirium Teatro is celebrating its 40th anniversary and marking it with the project 40 Delirios. The discussion will be between winners of the National Theatre Award, an event gathering renowned figures from national theatre to reflect on the evolution, challenges, and impact of theatre on contemporary society, with the theatre directors Ana Belén Santiago and Andrés Lima, as well as the company Delirium Teatro, moderated by José Luis Rivero., artistic director of the Auditorio de Tenerife.
The discussion will tackle the evolution of theatre over recent decades, the role played by companies in producing and promoting new works of theatre, and the importance of awards to provide visibility for theatre projects. There will also be a debate on current challenges in the sector, the sustainability of companies and the future of the theatre scene in Spain and the Canaries.

- Andrés Lima, director, actor, and playwright, Spanish National Theatre Prize Founder of the theatre company Animalario, he has directed productions such as Urtain, Marat-Sade, and Hamelin, in addition to working on prestigious stages like the Spanish National Drama Centre (CDN) and the Comédie-Française.
- Ana Belén Santiago, cultural manager and artistic director of Teatro del Barrio, was awarded the Spanish National Theatre Prize 2024. She has developed an extensive career in theatrical production and managing artistic projects in Spain.
- Delirium Teatro, a Canary Islands-based theatre company with 40 years of history and over 30 productions throughout its trajectory. They have brought their theatre to national and international stages, establishing themselves as a leading figure in the Canary Islands' theatre scene.
- José Luis Rivero, an expert in cultural management and performing arts and the artistic director of the Auditorio de Tenerife, will moderate the meeting.
