As part of the Voz y cuerpo (Voice and Body) artistic residencies organised by the Auditorio de Tenerife for  La Salita, the collaboration with the Laboratory of Live Arts and Citizenship of the Canary Islands (LAV-C) continues. Under this alliance, the project led by cultural director Beatriz Bello and artist Darío Bardam has scheduled three residencies of young and performance-orientated Canarian creators.

Bocas-carne: fricción ruidista is an encounter of Gara Hernández and Nathaly de la Cruz and the fourth artist residency of the programme Voice and Body.

 

 

 

 

Bocas-carne: fricción ruidista

Between pleasure and discomfort, Bocas-carne: fricción ruidista is a residency that explores the limits between language, the emission of noise and pain in contrast with pleasure, the harmonious and the visual. Does the dominance of the image or the intrusion of sound carry more weight? To what extent is the aesthetic experience of noise a pleasure for the senses? Does it withstand the sensorial dissonance of fragmented auditive aesthetics? Boca-carne: fricción ruidista will explore the evolution of fingers caressing the limits of sound and the liminal area of bodies askew, of dissident bodies.

The residency will be a conversation about the performative noise of Gara Hernandez, which is intended to pierce the onstage body of Nathaly de la Cruz: shouting, saturation, acoustic accidents, error, distortion, the edible, the pleasurable, the desired. The concept establishes a reflection on sound, image, their opposing interaction and the space occupied by both aesthetic actions in the evolution of the urgency of sensorial pleasure. A body pierced by sonorous tension through extended techniques and electronic procedures. A collision of the organic and the digital; an amplification of the sensorial experience.
