Concert number eleven of Sinfónica de Tenerife’s 2019/2020 season
Bach’s means taken to Romanticism by the baton who partly rekindled him: Felix Mendelssohn. Elijah is a powerful drama that looks beyond the sacred and is loaded with expression, force and colour, with sublime a capella moments, breathtaking arias and extraordinarily inspired choirs. It was the last great success of the composer before he died a year after the premier.
