Un espectáculo de Leonor Leal con Alfredo Lagos y Antonio Moreno
The FAM 2021 edition (Arts of Movement Festival) will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of June with 24 shows in five different venues: Auditorio de Tenerife, Espacio La Granja, Paraninfo de la ULL, Teatro Guimerá and the scenic venue Centro de Arte La Recova.
Before falling asleep, I close my eyes to see myself dancing. I imagine my movements singing the space I occupy. I memorise the sound and use this score to tattoo it in the air with my body. The rhythm guides me towards a night-dream full of life, rituals, illusion and liberating transformation.
The aim of this proposal is based on the expansion of my choreographic language. It explores other musical formats, how sound and space develop focused on the body; on the bodies, the rhythm and the guitar, which is crucial. Everything that is close to us reminds us of our own heartbeat. Natural materials, their textures, pots and pans or the table itself will be our "battle" utensils. The "naked" guitar, the percussion, the primary song, dragging sounds on the floor, the shoes or the voices that make us call other bodies. All of that becomes alive on stage. It shows a versatile flamenco scene through rewritten, travelled and revisited common folklore.
It has been created to be played and danced at night; it contains many references to other music and places. 'Nocturno' reflects the fantasy of two musicians and a dancer on stage; together they weave a route through insomnia, memory and longing. A journey that is sometimes playful, sometimes ecstatic or solemn, sometimes painful and lonely...".
