The Chamber Hall hosts this Sunday the wind bands from San Juan de la Rambla, El Rosario and Puerto de la Cruz.

On Sunday, April 6, over 130 musicians from the wind bands of San Juan de la Rambla, El Rosario, and Puerto de la Cruz bands headline the fourth event of the Primavera Musical cycle at the Auditorio de Tenerife’s Chamber Hall. The concert, starting at 11:30 a.m., is organised by the Wind Bands Federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música’ with the support of the Tenerife Island Council.

The ensemble ‘Agrupación Musical XIX de Marzo’ from San Juan de la Rambla, with over 40 years of history, will perform under the direction of Damián González García, presenting three pieces: El pintor by Hugo Chinesta, Victory by Rossano Galante, and Chameleon by Herbie Hancock.

The concert band of El Rosario, the ‘Asociación Cultural Princesa Yaiza’, comprises 50 musicians and boasts a 45-year history. Under the direction of Juan Antonio Rancel, the ensemble will offer Begoña Jiménez by Saúl Gómez, followed by Alfred Redd’s Concerto for marimba and winds, performed by soloist Aday Bravo, and Vincent Youmans’ Carioca 2 for Solo Tuba and Band, arranged by Naohiro Iwai, with Eduardo Rodríguez as a soloist.

Sunday’s event is rounded off by the participation of the ‘Agrupación Musical Puerto de la Cruz’, a wind band founded early in the last century with over a century of history. Under Jairo Cabrera’s direction, the band has prepared the following program for this occasion: All Glory Told by James Swearingen; Iacobus by José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana; and Portraits of Spain by Teodoro Aparicio Barberán.

The next Primavera Musical event at the Chamber Hall will be on 13th April, starting at 11.30 a.m., and featuring performances by the wind bands ‘La Esperanza’ from La Guancha, ‘Isorana’ from Guía de Isora, and the ‘Patronato Artístico Musical’ from Fasnia.
