On Saturday, 1 June, Auditorio de Tenerife will be hosting two concerts organized by the island’s music conservatoires. The first one,  Annie Poppins y el Cascanueces, is a family show by Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife and is taking place at Sala Sinfónica at 12:30 pm. Students of Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias specialising in  Composition will bring their creations to Sala de Cámara at 7:30 pm. Admission to this show is free.

During the family concert, the audience will follow the exciting adventures of Annie Poppins y el Cascanueces [Annie Poppins and the Nutcracker]. From their seats, all the members of the family can take part in this original story. Annie, Mary Poppins and the Nutcracker compete to be the protagonists of the concert.

The Symphony Orchestra of Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be conducted by Vicente Ferrer and will also feature soloists Eva Juárez, Gabriela Izquierdo, Bibiana Moreno, Andrés José Rodríguez, Natividad Oval, Laura Queipo de Llano and Jorge Corde. The text, based on the script by Isabel Osorio, will be narrated by Moisés Évora, Jorge Cordero and Begoña Fuentes.

The Young Choir of Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be performing too under the baton of Juan Ramón Vinagre; teachers Lourdes Rodríguez and Gloria Amil will be leading students at the initiation. Students of Centro Internacional de Danza de Santa Cruz de Tenerife are also taking part in this concert.

Tickets can be purchased at Auditorio de Tenerife box office from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm Monday to Saturday except holidays, on our website www.auditoriodetenerife.com  or calling 902 317 327.

At 7:30 pm Auditorio de Tenerife’s Sala de Cámara will turn into a screening room where Composition students of Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias can show their creations being interpreted by students of the school.

This initiative, which is very special for students, is a good opportunity to show the results of the work they have done during the year on contemporary musical language.

It is a chance to learn about and enjoy the compositions and performances of this new generation of musicians who have vocationally dedicated their efforts to explore early and current languages to find a voice of their own.

Both concerts, which have been organized by these education centres, are part of the Educational and Social Area of Auditorio de Tenerife, an initiative that has the collaboration of Fundación Cepsa and Obra Social “la Caixa”.
