Music and words come together to bring to life the Commedia dell’arte characters described by Stravinsky in his Pulcinella Suite, derived from the ballet. In the neoclassic-style suite, the Russian composer re-interpreted the music composed in the 18th century which has been attributed to Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolessi.
“The story begins when Pulcinella takes out his old violin and starts to play and dance in a way only he can.”
