SCHUBERT’S THE GREAT
After Stalin’s death, Shostakovich was finally able to bring his concert to light. It did not fit the “simple” and “close to the people” criteria required by the censors. This critical, frantic piece is followed by Schubert’s most ambitious work which competes with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
D. Shostakovich VIOLIN CONCERTO Nº1 IN A MINOR OP. 77
