Alter the unquestionable success with Mozart last season, Víctor Pablo Pérez calls again the solid choral group Ensemble Vocal de Tenerife to approach the sweetest and most hopeful music piece ever composed on the text of the Latin Requiem: that of the Post-Romantic and, in a sense, pre-Impressionist French composer Gabriel Fauré. In addition to the reputable baritone José Antonio López, Tenerife-born Raquel Lojendio, one of the best-established Canaries soloists, will be once again rendering the exquisite “Pie Jesu” with her proverbial musicality. Committed to spreading not very well-known pieces, Víctor Pablo Pérez is also presenting Two Spanish Visions by Italian-American Gian Carlo Menotti, two cantatas for soprano or baritone and choir on text by our mystics San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús, a good proof of his Catholic faith and a timely link with the culture of our country.
