During his visit to Tenerife, Argentine playwright Emiliano Dionisi will also offer a workshop
Compañía Criolla performs on the island with its show El brote, which can be seen at La Salita in the Auditorio de Tenerife on Saturday, 26 April, at 7.30 p.m., and on Sunday, 27 April, at noon. El brote begins with an actor, played by Roberto Peloni, who starts to experience a blurring of the boundaries between fiction and reality and begins to mistrust the author of the written account of his life.
La Salita welcomes this Argentine show after its thundering success in Buenos Aires, where it garnered both public and critical acclaim. Founded in 2009, Compañía Criolla is among the most prolific and highly praised theatre companies to have emerged in the last decade. Among its standout productions are Sueño, Recuerdos a la hora de la siesta, Cyrano de más acá, Los Monstruos, El apego and Romeo y Julieta de bolsillo, all of which have received multiple awards and acknowledgements at home and abroad. The company participates in dozens of cultural events, including festivals, conferences, art fairs and state-programmed cycles.
The tickets are available on the website www.auditoriodetenerife.com, at the auditorium’s box office or by dialling the phone number 902 317 327 from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are discounts for those under 30, subscription holders of Ópera de Tenerife and wheelchair users.
Roberto Peloni is among the most talented actors of his generation. He was part of the productions Siglo de oro Trans, Shrek el musical, El Cabaret de los hombres perdidos, La Parka, Sweeney Todd, La Bella y la Bestia, El fantasma de la opera. He has appeared on television in La Peña en Morfi and on film in Mi Obra Maestra and La sombra del Gato.
Emiliano Dionisi is a graduate of dramatic studies at CC Cultural Paco Urondo (FILO – UBA). His shows are programmed at state-sponsored, independent and commercial venues, and his scripts have been staged in Mexico, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and Spain.
Dionisi will take advantage of his presence in Tenerife to offer an in-person dramaturgy workshop on April 28 and 29, featuring three-hour sessions each day. The seminar will address key dramaturgical concepts such as creating fictional realities, dramatic structure, character development, conflict, turning points, and managing dramatic tension. Participants will explore the nuances of dramatic structure and techniques to enhance the creative process.
Those interested in attending this seminar must request their registration before tomorrow (Tuesday 22 April) at 2 p.m. by sending an email to artesescenicas@auditoriodetenerife.com.
