As part of its jazz proposals, the Auditorio de Tenerife is offering this concert by Albert Vila Trío, who are presenting their album Reality is nuance.

Albert Vila has previously recorded and performed his own compositions in larger groups, such as quartets and quintets. However, this time he is exploring his compositional and performative skills in a smaller group, with the support of great double bass player Doug Weiss and the fantastic drummer Ferenc Nemeth.

The guitar trio format can be minimalist, delicate, and even a challenge, especially on an album lasting for almost an hour. However, Weiss and Nemeth do excellent work mixing styles, and textures and capturing a broad tonal range, in which individualities are at the service of a whole.

As an eclectic and reflexive musician, Albert Vila undergoes an intense process of personal searching to create a coherent language. He draws inspiration from classical and jazz pianists' use of polyphony and aims to bring some of that universe to the guitar trio format. Reality is Nuance is Albert Vila's seventh album as a lead musician, and he takes his new trio to a place where all its elements form a single unit.
