Ópera de Tenerife presents the family opera of the season: The little sweep by Benjamin Britten.
The little sweep is an opera in three scenes created in 1949 as a continuation of a stage production entitled Let's Make an Opera! composed by B. Britten and with a libretto by E. Crozier. It premiered at the Aldeburgh Festival (England) in 1949 with the aim of introducing children to this artistic genre.
The story takes place at the beginning of the 19th century, more specifically in the year 1810, in Iken, a village a short distance from Aldeburgh.
The composer, Benjamin Britten, created this show inspired by two poems by the artist William Blake, dedicated to the work of the little chimney sweeps and which he entitled The Chimney Sweeper. It is a work aimed at children's audiences, showing a theme with social connotations such as children's work

Children who have not reached the age of two on the day of the show will not need to purchase a ticket if they are not going to occupy a seat. When accessing the hall, you will be required to have a document proving the minor's age (ID card or family book). Pushchairs and prams are not allowed in the hall.
