The Auditorio de Tenerife welcomes the first family concert offered by the Sinfónica de Tenerife (Tenerife Symphony Orchestra) titled 'Nuevos Mundos' (New Worlds) and recommended for children over 6 years of age.
The New World Symphony is Dvořák's ninth. The number nine seems to be a magic number in the world of symphonic music, because many composers wrote that number of symphonies. It also took Dvořák nine days to cross the Atlantic on the ship that transported him from Europe to New York Harbour. And there, in the United States, is where he composed this symphony which he called "From the New World", as it was the first one he wrote on that continent – a place so new and different for him… as new as the world we want to present to you in this concert: the world of orchestral music. Together with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, we will review the rhythms, folklore, and legends that inspired Dvořák in a concert to sing, count, dance, and enjoy.
Conductor: Ignacio García-Vidal
Narrator: Ana Hernández Sanchiz
