Los perros
The programme of FAM 23 is offering the show Los perros, (The Dogs) by Led Silhouette and Marcos Morau, which will take place on the stage of the Symphony Hall, which will also house the audience.
As children of their time, those born in the digital era are facing an unstable and turbulent setting that confronts them (and us) with a process of dehumanisation and isolation, for which the most successful solution seems to be individual armour, the creation of a distinctive identity or a personal brand.
More than ever, we are a product on sale, and youth is the most prized asset. The contemporary era obliterates fragile bodies, it dismembers the most vulnerable, it disposes of the misfits who struggle (we struggle) between the option of rebellion or docility. In that contradiction, which is a constant and uncertain struggle, the need arises for others, understanding, empathy, compassion, and love as an urgent resource.
Los Perros (The dogs) proposes reaching a state of resistance; like dogs that wander, dogs that encounter one another, that recognise one another as being vulnerable, that share joy, but also pain, that fall and get back up, that dance, that rebel through love, generosity, and commitment, in order to find the meaning of their own lives in that shared journey, in order to overcome violence and damage together.
We are presenting a proposal that travels from the trance of repetition to the fascination of the succession of images. Images robbed from yesterday and launched into the future, from now and smeared with the past, from contemporary plastic art to the atavistic, earthly form, in a constant crossover of times and languages.
The display of a passionate dance that finds its purest meaning in repetition and catharsis: Dancing to the point of exhaustion, barking to the point of weariness, living to the point of fatigue. The story of a man who views himself in the other in order to find himself.
Two men embracing. Two men who dance until everything ends and everything starts again.
