As part of its Chamber Cycle, the Auditorio de Tenerife presents the Ensemble Diderot.

Since its creation, Ensemble Diderot has been an ambassador of the trio sonata, breathing new life into great works and enriching the repertoire with new and heretofore relatively unknown treasures. In this programme, the group will interpret the repertoire of the sonata for four. This small corpus of works plays a decisive role in music history, as it marks the transition between Baroque ensemble sonatas and the appearance of string quartets. The ensemble, led by Johannes Pramsohler, received the ICMA 2024 award for the best instrumental Baroque recording for Sonate a quattro.

‘The real surprise comes from the orchestra pit where Johannes Pramsohler conducts his Ensemble Diderot with a refinement worthy of the greatest.’
Le Figaro

‘Splendidly prepared to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Musica Antiqua Köln.’
Classica

‘Forming part of the elite of large early music groups for over a decade, Ensemble Diderot is characterised by the technical excellence and rigour of its undertakings, offering in its programmes −in recordings and concerts− a seldom heard repertoire.’
Scherzo (Imanol Temprano)

‘Ensemble Diderot shines brightly in its debut at the National Auditorium.’
Scherzo

‘Johannes Pramsohler, Roldán Bernabé and Simone Pirri proved to be sensational musicians. It shall be said that their interpretive focus was that of a musician rather than virtuosos. Along with producing beautiful sound, agile fingerings and a variety of technical skills demanded by these works, their rendition also captured the cantabile quality essential for approaching these pieces. In the interpretation, they adhered to the refinement in expression characteristic of Italian Baroque instrumental music, which was always compared to the standard of vocal music. Failing to uphold this standard would result in the loss of part of the music's charm.’
Scherzo
