Ópera Estudio 2014

Ópera de Tenerife presents the second Ópera Estudio, an academy for all-round training whose aim is to support and promote young singers, thereby enhancing their chances for employment in their chosen profession. Giulio Zappa will lead the artistic and musical direction of the project, with Silvia Paoli in stage management. Assisted by an important team of professionals, they will prepare the chosen candidates to give a good operatic performance, in accordance with current European precepts, including performance techniques for music and stage, style, diction, body language, theatrical nature of the role, historical context of the composition, dramatisation and studying the libretto. Ópera Estudio will conclude with a performance in the main hall of the Auditorio of a production of Rossini’s Cinderella, with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife. This opera is part of the Ópera de Tenerife season, thereby guaranteeing the singers direct contact with the realities of theatre.

Registration is open until 12 pm on 10 May, and auditions will be held in Madrid, Milan and Tenerife in early June. The terms and conditions are available for download below.

Work will take place in September and October at the Auditorio de Tenerife in masterclass format and on the opera production.
