Ópera Estudio 2015

Ópera de Tenerife presents the third Ópera Estudio, an academy for all-round training, which aims to support and promote young singers, thereby enhancing their chances for employment in their chosen profession. Led by Giulio Zappa, a large team of professionals will prepare the chosen candidates to give good operatic performances, in accordance with current European precepts, including performance techniques for music and stage, style, diction, body language, the theatrical nature of the role, historical context of the composition, dramatisation and libretto studies. Ópera Estudio will conclude with a performance in the main hall of the Auditorio of a production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife. This opera, which is part of the Ópera de Tenerife season, will ensure that the singers have direct contact with the realities of theatre.

Registration is open until 12 pm on 1 May, and auditions will be held in Bologne, Madrid and Tenerife in late May and early June. The terms and conditions are available for download below.

Work in masterclass format and on the opera production will take place in September and October, at the Auditorio de Tenerife.
