Die Fledermaus
Ópera de Tenerife will premiere an unprecedented collaboration with the Canaries International Music Festival, in which both are to take part in the scheduled performance of Johann Strauss's Die Fledermaus (‘The Flittermouse’). It is an Extraordinary Concert of the International Canary Islands Music Festival in co-production with the Tenerife Opera and the AAK/TPG Foundation.
A concert version of this operetta in three acts will be interpreted, with its frustrated intimacies, games of seduction and entertaining changes of identity. The operetta is an oddity among the works of the Austrian composer, whose father composed Radetzky-Marsch.
