CHACONNERIE

A challenging and exciting program made of bassi ostinati that have led to great top hits of keyboard music from the past to our days: a form that allowed composers –and at the same time musicians– to demonstrate the level of technical and musical virtuosity they were capable of, and that in this selection shows the influence of the times in which they wrote.
Renaissance dances from the 16th century lead us, passing through the German counterpoint or the French "galanterie", to the popular rhythms of the 20th and 21st centuries: the rock by Ligeti or the Cuban montuno on which Roberto Sierra has composed the last piece, full of courage, freedom and wildness.
