The intuitive Fourth Symphony, in its primitive version (Brahms’s favourite: “perfectly natural”), and its radiant, lively, full of folklore Renana, embrace Schumann’s Cello concerto, which is presented as a journey to the heart of the composer, such is the emotion and introspection gathered in this quasi- soliloquy of the soloist.
