Twincussion

Twincussion is made up by Taiwanese twins Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu Chien. This special duo was set up more than 20 years ago and today they are presenting their new percussion phase. Their varied repertoire ranges from Romantic transcriptions to contemporary pieces, including arrangements of popular Taiwanese pieces, electronic music, etc.

They have received multiple awards in international music competitions in Europe and North America. In 2014 they received the Grand Honorable Mention (Second prize) in south California; in 2016 they took First prize at the Percussion International Competition in Italy; in 2018 they got first prize at the “Golden Classical Music Award”; and they recently landed the second prize at the “Chamber Music Competition” of the ”Royal Danish Academy”.

The duo has made presentations in the US, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, England, Italy, Switzerland and Denmark. In 2016 they were invited to play at the World Percussion Group in the US. In 2018, they were members of the jury of the “Youth Tuned Percussion Competition” in London.  That same year they took part in "Percussive Art Society International Convention” in Indianapolis. In 2019 they were invited to take part at the “National Percussion Workshop and Festival” in Gdańsk, Poland.

Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu have the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma (Soloist) from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and are representative artists of the brands Mike Balter Mallets and Yamaha.
