Sinfónica de Tenerife’s next programme focuses on The Beatles
Sinfónica de Tenerife is giving a concert on Thursday, 28th, The Beatles, which includes the best-known songs by this 1960s British band. The orchestra will be conducted by Nick Davies -regarded as one of the major specialists in this repertoire - and the show also features singer Jon Boydon and presenter Ana Molowny. The concert is part of the Cabildo’s orchestra season. It starts at 7:30 pm at Sala Sinfónica del Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín and it is sold out.
The programme contains the most famous songs of the British band starting with those included in one of the most mysterious records in pop history, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Hailed as a masterpiece, the album has some of the best pieces by The Beatles like With a Little Help from My Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Getting Better, Fixing a Hole, She’s Leaving Home, Within You, Without You, Lovely Rita, Good Morning, Good Morning or A Day in the Life.
Welsh conductor Nick Davies will be guiding Sinfónica de Tenerife to produce the characteristic sound of this band, which was set up in 1962 in Liverpool by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The concert will close with a selection of classics like She Loves You, Strawberry Fields, A Hard Day’s Night, Let It Be, Help!, Penny Lane or Yesterday. This is a special occasion to pay tribute to one of the most influential bands in the history of recent music.
Committed to creating and developing new audiences, this is the fifth year that this Cabildo orchestra includes a groundbreaking formula in their season that combines the classic concept of a concert with a proposal for new audiences.
Conductor Nick Davies is internationally renowned for the quality with which he approaches classical music and opera together with other “minor” genres like rock, musicals or film soundtracks. Concerts of this kind include The Golden Era of Hollywood, ABBA, and Symphonic Queen, which he performed with Sinfónica de Tenerife in 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively.
