The Auditorio de Tenerife is a cultural venue linked to the Department of Culture of Tenerife Island Council that is managed by its island's Minister of Culture, Enrique Arriaga. The Chamber Hall hosts on Saturday (19th) at 6 p.m. a concert by the students of the Professional Music Conservatory of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The ensembles that participate during this event are the saxophone chamber music quartet, with the teacher Benigno Cedrés; the singing students, with the teacher Jorge Cordero, and the chamber orchestra with Giovanni Déniz as teacher and director.
Through this type of activity, the Professional Music Conservatory of Santa Cruz de Tenerife encourages pupils to participate in activities outside the school environment. The aim of this concert is to show the level and work carried out by the students and teachers.
The concert programme will start with the saxophone chamber music quartet. They will play Andante by Raymond Moulaert and Amusement park suite by Hiroki Takahashi. Afterwards, the singing students will perform a varied repertoire with works by Joaquín Rodrigo, Eduard Toldrá, Alessandro Scarlatti, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vincenzo Bellini and Jesús Guridi. Finally, the chamber orchestra will play compositions by Jean Sibelius, Harald Genzmer and Benjamin Britten.
