These lyrical performances, which complement the season, take place in October in El Sauzal, Arona, and will conclude at the Auditorio de Tenerife

The Ópera de Tenerife is complementing its season with several lyrical performances. The first three will take place at Teatro El Sauzal, the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Arona, and the Auditorio de Tenerife in October. They are being presented under the title Noches de Zarzuela (Zarzuela Evenings) and will star the Catalan tenor José Bros, who will be accompanied on the piano by Marco Evangelisti. Arias such as Bella enamorada from El último romántico will be heard, along with other melodies from well-known zarzuelas such as Luisa Fernanda, La dolorosa and Doña Francisquita.

The first of the events with the Spanish genre takes place on 12 October at the Teatro El Sauzal. The next day, the performance will be at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Arona. Lastly, on 14 October, the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife will host the last chance to listen to these Zarzuela Evenings. The three shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased through the usual channels of these spaces.

José Bros, a tenor who is much loved by the Tenerife public and a regular of the Opera of Tenerife seasons, is considered one of the leading exponents of the Romantic bel canto repertoire of recent years. He has premiered over 60 titles in this style and has also achieved important successes with works from the French repertoire. His last performance at the Auditorio de Tenerife was in November last year when he played the role of Riccardo, as part of the production Un Ballo in Maschera.

Marco Evangelisti, born in Lucca, has taught courses in the lyrical repertoire, and he performs as an accompanying pianist in opera and chamber music performances at the main theatres and festivals in Spain, Europe, and the United States, alongside performers such as Ainhoa Arteta, Montserrat Caballé, Mariola Cantarero, Fiorenza Cedolins, and María Gallego.
