The concert will take place on Friday, 27 September 2024, at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorio de Tenerife and will feature the pianist Denis Kozhukhin as guest soloist.

Giancarlo Guerrero is a six-time GRAMMY Award winner and musical director of the Nashville Symphony who will conduct the Sinfónica de Tenerife for the first time in its third show of the season, entitled Bolero, after one of the world's most widely performed compositions. The concert will take place on Friday, 27 September 2024, at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorio de Tenerife. It will also feature the debut of the pianist Denis Kozhukhin as guest soloist.

The show includes works that emphasise the importance of rhythm to music: an unrelenting ternary rhythmic drive characterises the framework of Fandangos by Roberto Sierra. The eleventh bar of Piano Concerto No. 3 by Prokofiev unleashes the most turbulent motor rhythms, exalting the soloist's musical acrobatics. The musical patterns of popular dances guide the colourful discourse of Capriccio Espagnol by Rimsky-Korsakov. Lastly, in Ravel's famous Bolero, the snare drum provides a constant hypnotic rhythm throughout the iconic piece.

Guerrero has conducted in countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Australia. He has championed the works of prominent American composers and conducted the Nashville Symphony in 11 world premieres and 15 recordings of American music.

Denis Kozhukhin is considered one of the leading pianists of his generation. He has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the London Symphony and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. As the 2010 Queen Elisabeth Competition winner in Brussels, his international career has taken him to the most important festivals and to record works by composers such as Franck, Ravel and Gershwin.

Before the concert, the Tenerife Association for Friends ATADEM will offer a talk about the works that will be performed, given by Lourdes Bonnet Fernández-Trujillo, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., at the Sala Avenida (in the hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife).

Tickets for this concert can be purchased until the day of the event on the website www.sinfonicadetenerife.es, at the auditorium's box office, or by dialling the phone number 902 317 327 from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
