Auditorio de Tenerife (Sala Sinfónica) Four years after their sublime performance on the Islands, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the Festival under the baton of its Principal Conductor maestro Temirkanov. They will play Tchaikovsky’s emblematic Piano Concerto nº 1 with a virtuoso: Young North American pianist of Chinese descent George Li, who is making his debut in our country. The programme also includes Symphony nº2 by Rachmaninov.
This concert is therefore a meeting of two distant generations brought together by excellence: “young veteran” Yuri Temirkanov, 80, “veteran youth” George Li, aged just 23.
