The Latin Recording Academy® announced renowned Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas as one of its 2024 Leading Ladies of Entertainment honorees. The program, created eight years ago, honors and recognizes professional and socially conscious women in the arts and Latin entertainment fields who have made significant contributions and inspired future leaders.
Winner of 8 Latin GRAMMYs® and a GRAMMY®, Julieta Venegas is one of the leading figures and references in Latin pop. Known for hits like “Limón y sal,” “Me voy,” and “Lento,” Venegas' versatility, along with the authenticity that shines through her creations, has made her the most-streamed female Mexican artist on Spotify and the only one within the Top 500 globally.
Her collaboration with Tainy and Bad Bunny won the Latin GRAMMY for Best Reggaeton Performance in 2022, and a year later, her album Tu historia won the Latin GRAMMY for Best Pop Vocal Album. As one of the most recognized Latin performers worldwide, Julieta Venegas has sold around 25 million albums globally, earning gold and platinum certifications in countries such as Mexico, the USA, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, and Spain.
Her altruism has led her to become a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in Mexico and also a Goodwill Ambassador for the Council of Ministers of Women of Central America (COMMCA).
In 2024, she has visited Latin America, the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe, performing in front of over 90,000 people at the Zócalo in Mexico City and 85,000 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid as part of her extensive tour.
