FAM offers about twenty free entry shows
From Wednesday, 5 June to Sunday, 9 June, the Festival de las Artes del Movimiento de Tenerife (FAM) is offering some twenty free entry dance shows at different venues in La Laguna and Santa Cruz: Auditorio de Tenerife, Teatro Guimerá, Teatro Leal, ULL Paraninfo and some streets in La Laguna. Tenerife dancer Paula Quintana is opening the festival with her work Las Alegrías which she is premiering at 7:30 pm at Teatro Leal. The 9th FAM will also welcome about thirty local, national and international programmers.
Quintana’s new proposal is a piece about joy as a generating, transforming and revolutionary power. It is a dialogue danced by two bodies: the living, latent body of Paula Quintana and a magical, heavenly body that concentrates all the powerful energy and drive of life. Las Alegrías is an accompanied solo number, or a choreographed installation about joy as a life and political stance.
For this stage journey across a body, concentrating all the creative and mysterious power of joy, Paula Quintana has counted on a large working team. To the dancer’s creation and interpretation, we must add the dramaturgy by Javier Cuevas, the sonorous space of Óscar Villegas, the light and stage by Cube.bz., Tahiche Díaz’s installation, the styling by Amuhaici Luis, image design by Pepe Valladares, Grace Morales as technical director and texts by Roy Galán.
Las Alegrías is a production of Paula Quintana with the support of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife through the Instituto de Artes Escénicas de Tenerife, Centro de Danza Canal, Teatre Principal de Palma, Festival Tercera Setmana, Eima Centre de Creació, Teatro El Sauzal, Tenerife LAV and Teatro Leal de La Laguna.
