THE GREAT SYMPHONIC ORGAN 2.0
The Festival Internacional de Música Antigua de Tenerife (Fimante) [Tenerife Early Music International Festival] and the Nova Ars Organorum (NAO) series present The Symphonic Organ 2.0. Proposed by Juan de la Rubia, the programme approaches different music styles that show the versatility of the organ at Auditorio de Tenerife.
The transcription for organ of the famous Chaconne for violin by J.S. Bach is a version enhanced by the instrument, and F. Mendelssohn’s Sonata nº 4 shows the admiration this composer felt for Bach and his style.
Guilmant’s music is a new period for organ music where the instrument evolved to become what it is today. With the work by Ch. Tournemire, we perceive the greatness of this music. The programme closes with an improvisation to show the colourful palette of stops and timbres of the king of instruments.
As a sign of respect for the audience and the performers, children under 5 are not admitted.
