35 FIMC: MARTHA ARGERICH [PIANO]
One of the two commissioned works for the 35th Festival has been composed by Tenerife-born Cecilia Díaz: Los ojos del espejo, to be premiered by Cuarteto Quiroga, resident group at Palacio Real de Madrid, and winners of the Premio Nacional de Música 2018 [National Music Award].
On the same evening we will also enjoy prestigious Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich, who is starting the concert with a piece that is emblematic in her repertoire, Bach’s Partita Nº 2.
She will then go on to play the Quintet by Schumann with Aitor Hevia (violin), Cibrán Sierra (violin), Josep Puchades (viola) and Helena Poggio (cello), who are members of Quiroga.
